Yohji Yamamoto said that. Carol Christian Poell started a trend of insetting gloves into coats, and shirts. I’ve seen other designers do it more and more and I have to admit, I’m loving it. Boris Bidjan Saberi makes amazing shirts … Continue reading

MÖRKNA A-W011

For the past few weeks I have been working with Vita Brevis Films on the Mörkna Fall/Winter 2011 video look book. It has been a lot of fun shooting with the guys, being on set, and being involved in essentially ever aspect of the creative process. It is really amazing how they can compile clips and produce something like this. It took a ton of work just for a video clip that is only a couple of minutes long. It gave me a really big appreciation for the movie industry and the work that must go into producing a full-length feature film. Without further adieu, here it is, Mörkna A-W011 video look book. Enjoy!

LONG NIGHT

Saturday night was ridiculous. It started at 8PM when my dad gave me the keys to his friends Lexus and told me that I had 2 hours before I needed to get it to the airport. I went over to my friend’s place for a while and kind of lost track of time. At 9:55 I realized I had to get to the airport in 5 minutes. I thought five minutes shouldn’t be a problem in a Lexus from downtown Salt Lake—I got there in four. After I dropped the car off, my friend and I met up with some people. After hanging out for a while we decided it would be best if we went to a karaoke bar. I was secretly excited because it’s always been a dream of mine to be a front man in a band but there is one problem… I can’t sing. After a couple of hours of listening to people, I couldn’t resist. Turns out that my friend recorded it, but sorry Brother Val, you’re not seeing it. No one is. After that karaoke bar, we found ourselves at a sushi place. Unfortunately, they stopped serving food at 2AM. The place did have a karaoke machine though! After a few more songs, we went to The Pie. If you’ve never been at 3AM, I highly recommend it. And that’s pretty much where the night ended.
